Summer Project - A New Addition

Thomas' summer project was building his newest addition to the airplane hanger, introducing "Out of Control". A local company assisted with airbrush painting the airplane and pilot helmet.

No Pain, No Gain

Anthony is experiencing his first carpet burns on his knees from racing around the room. We should be skinner soon from chasing him around. Anthony's next words should be "no" and "stop" since he is hearing those two words most often now that he is on the move.

As of Friday 10/10, nothing in the house was safe. The plants and other decor have been pulled off in the floor. Our little one is really exploring his world! He loves pulling all his books off his shelf in his room. His favorite play time is still watching his daddy fly his airplanes and the little mini helicopter.

Today was the first trip to the doctor for a sick visit. Anthony has a small ear infection in his left ear. He is on some medicine and has been recovering well.

Nine Months...On the Move

Warning: This long baby update is intended for grandparents and family living out of town and may bore most of the world. Bear with us for the sake of entertaining those most interested! =)

Anthony went for his 9-month checkup last Thursday (10/02). He is a healthy, growing boy! Thank God for His goodness and mercy! Anthony weighs 20 lbs and is 29 inches in length now.

...and YES, his hair does stand straight up on it's own.

It has been amazing and exciting to watch how fast he is learning and growing up. We cherish every day and take advantage of our time together.

In the past month, Anthony....

8/26 - Walked forward in his walker...now he goes everywhere and fast! His favorite game is to play hide and seek. We run to one corner, Anthony comes and finds us, and laughs a big belly laugh. We run to the other side and the game goes on and on. He does really well "cruising", walking while holding on to things.
(Next two images are videos. Press the play button to view.)

9/01 - Ate his first graham cracker and Cheerios. He is beginning to chew pieces of food. No teeth yet! His doctor said some twelve-month old's don't have teeth so those will come in when it's time.

9/17 - Began crawling, dragging his face on the floor. By 10/07, Anthony was crawling on his knees and hands. By 10/08, he was crawling across the room...check out the video of his first day crawling across the room. It was no surprise that he was crawling after an airplane!
(Press the play button on the video to view.)

9/18 - Began sitting up on his own. By 9/29, he was sitting up in his bed when he woke up from a nap or in the morning. So cute to come in the room and see him sitting up on his own.

10/03 - Started doing the "more" sign language. When we feed him, we ask, "Do you want more?" So now he associates food with the "more" sign. When he wants food now, he touches the tips of his fingers together. He continues to say, "DaDa", "MaMa", and "BaBa" (for bottle).

He jabbers a lot and makes the cutest gestures. When he is done eating, he waves his arms for the sign "all done" and shakes his head back and forth in a "no" gesture for no more food.

When we were putting him to bed this evening, he made the sign for "all done", waving is arms back and forth, and then made the sign for "more" which he thinks means food. He was saying that he was all done playing and he wanted a bottle. We have been saying for the past 9 months that we couldn't wait until we could communicate with him. It makes it a lot easier to understand what he needs.

10/07 - Puts shapes into play containers. Playtime is always cute to see Anthony learning and exploring. He has begun to pick up shapes and place them into containers, bang objects together, and understands items (like the remote) are still within reach even if they are taken away and hidden (he looks for items that have been hidden). Wrestling with his daddy is also a favorite pass time.

We look forward to every moment when Anthony does something new!

Softball Star Player

Dylan, our nephew, is our little six year old softball star player! We had a lot of fun watching him play. Anthony enjoyed playing with his cousins, Dylan and Brooke. (To enlarge images, double click on the picture. Then use the back button to return to the blog.)

Vacation Fun in Myrtle Beach, SC

We spent the first week of Autumn in Myrtle Beach, SC at the Myrtle Beach State Park. The weather was very nice, cool with a breeze. The water was a different story...too cold!

There was one rainy day on Thursday so we picked that day to visit the aquarium. The rain ended up being more like a tropical storm with winds over 44 MPH. On the way back to the campsite, we thought the wind was going to blow over the RV so we decided to spend the night in the Wal-Mart parking lot instead of risking a tree being on top of us in the park. When we got up the next morning, the sun was bright and the fun began again.

Most of the fun included walking the nature trails, sitting on the beach, flying the airplane, visiting the nature center, playing on the playground, and eating smores from the campfire. We are really enjoying our RV!
