Vacation Fun in Myrtle Beach, SC

We spent the first week of Autumn in Myrtle Beach, SC at the Myrtle Beach State Park. The weather was very nice, cool with a breeze. The water was a different story...too cold!

There was one rainy day on Thursday so we picked that day to visit the aquarium. The rain ended up being more like a tropical storm with winds over 44 MPH. On the way back to the campsite, we thought the wind was going to blow over the RV so we decided to spend the night in the Wal-Mart parking lot instead of risking a tree being on top of us in the park. When we got up the next morning, the sun was bright and the fun began again.

Most of the fun included walking the nature trails, sitting on the beach, flying the airplane, visiting the nature center, playing on the playground, and eating smores from the campfire. We are really enjoying our RV!

Happy Birthday, Thomas!

Happy Birthday...our NASCAR Superstar!
Today Thomas celebrated one of the most thrilling birthdays ever at the Lowes Motor Speedway in Concord, NC, driving the #99 NASCAR® Carl Edwards' race car around the track (actual car drove in previous races). Part of the unexpected fun was when we arrived the track was wet. Volunteers were asked to drive their own vehicles around the track to dry off the water. Of course, we got right in line and for a half an hour drove the truck around the track....sooooo fun! Anthony wanted to fight to drive the truck after the thrill ride on the track!

(The instructor is the in the first car, Thomas is in the red car # 99)
