Like Father, Like Son

As we got ready for church today, we noticed both father and son were wearing almost the same type of shoes. It's a small reminder that Anthony will be following in our footsteps and it is important to live a life pleasing to God everyday.

Eight Months - What's New With Anthony?

Anthony turns 8 months old this Friday. New developments seem to appear every day. He is growing so big. We use to be able to hold him the palm of our hands and now it takes two arms and a strong back! Anthony still likes to play with his basket of toys on the floor. He picks through them and throws out the ones he is bored with, which usually ends up being all of them!

The funnest discovery has been shoes! We let Anthony go barefooted since he was born. He doesn't know what shoes are and doesn't really like them. At first he thought they were foot toys and then became annoyed with them when they wouldn't just pull off.

Anthony's hair is growing straight up on the top...cute mohawk!

READY, SET, GO....Anthony is holding himself up well but not crawling yet. He either moves his legs or his arms, but not at the same time. When he figures out how to move his arms and legs together, he'll be off and crawling. Right now he just rolls to whatever catches his attention.

New skill....clapping his hands! The video is sideways because we thought we could rotate the camera image on the computer and videos cannot be rotated with our software....sorry. If you turn your head, it will appear right side up (click on the play arrow button to view). You may want to mute the volume! Anthony only claps his hands when Mommy sings and Mommy makes more of a joyful noise than being in tune!

York County Giant Scale Fly-In

Beautiful weather, a cool breeze, and great friends gathered at the York County Flyers Club on Saturday for the giant scale fly-in (larger sized radio controlled airplanes). Primo and Thomas (together) flew an IMAC (International Miniature Airplane Competition) sequence for the crowd. We all had a great time!

Fun at the Flying Field

Thomas, Anthony, and Anthony's "Uncle" Primo and "Cousin" Jacob were practicing the competition sequence at the airplane field when a very large praying mantis thought Thomas' leg was a good place to perch!

First RV Camping Trip - IMAC

We went on our first RV camping trip in Woodruff, SC for the IMAC (International Miniature Airplane Competition) event and only had to get out the RV manual a couple of times to figure out what we were doing! Anthony was excited about the RV because he had plenty of room for all his toys.

The trip was fantastic, except for the little incident Heather experienced on Saturday morning. A bumble bee was after Anthony. Heather swatted the bee with her hat and the bee got aggressive, chasing her and trying to sting her face. So she took off in a dash and ended up falling. The fall resulted in a busted lip, over 20 bruises (we stopped counting after 23), and a sprained ankle.
Thanks to Heather's praying Mom (who was on the cell phone when the incident happened), God answering our prayers, and two medical technicians on site to help, the sprained ankle was healing fast after just 24 hours. The lesson learned was don't run! The bee sting would have quit hurting long before what happened trying to get away from the bee! The next day a fire ant bit a toe on the other foot and that has hurt worse than the sprain! Not sure whose nest we stepped on but nature took revenge this trip!

We are looking forward to our next RV adventure. Check out the updated RV pictures (inside view) on the previous RV posting below from 7/21/08.
