Anthony went for his 9-month checkup last Thursday (10/02). He is a healthy, growing boy! Thank God for His goodness and mercy! Anthony weighs 20 lbs and is 29 inches in length now.
...and YES, his hair does stand straight up on it's own.
In the past month, Anthony....
8/26 - Walked forward in his walker...now he goes everywhere and fast! His favorite game is to play hide and seek. We run to one corner, Anthony comes and finds us, and laughs a big belly laugh. We run to the other side and the game goes on and on. He does really well "cruising", walking while holding on to things.
9/18 - Began sitting up on his own. By 9/29, he was sitting up in his bed when he woke up from a nap or in the morning. So cute to come in the room and see him sitting up on his own.
10/03 - Started doing the "more" sign language. When we feed him, we ask, "Do you want more?" So now he associates food with the "more" sign. When he wants food now, he touches the tips of his fingers together. He continues to say, "DaDa", "MaMa", and "BaBa" (for bottle).
He jabbers a lot and makes the cutest gestures. When he is done eating, he waves his arms for the sign "all done" and shakes his head back and forth in a "no" gesture for no more food.
When we were putting him to bed this evening, he made the sign for "all done", waving is arms back and forth, and then made the sign for "more" which he thinks means food. He was saying that he was all done playing and he wanted a bottle. We have been saying for the past 9 months that we couldn't wait until we could communicate with him. It makes it a lot easier to understand what he needs.
10/07 - Puts shapes into play containers. Playtime is always cute to see Anthony learning and exploring. He has begun to pick up shapes and place them into containers, bang objects together, and understands items (like the remote) are still within reach even if they are taken away and hidden (he looks for items that have been hidden). Wrestling with his daddy is also a favorite pass time.
We look forward to every moment when Anthony does something new!
